Benefit for Karyna Santana

Karyna_Santana

The following is information about an event planned for Karyna Santana, a local artist who was hit and badly injured while riding on Par Street a week and a half ago. CommuteOrlando is helping to promote this event. If you have any questions about it, please see the contact info below.

Karyna Santana, aka Emma X, is a bright & creative Orlando local. On Sunday, February 3rd, Karyna was critically injured in a collision with a Jeep while riding her bicycle. She is extremely lucky to be alive but faces a long recovery. Let’s support this wonderful woman with 24 solid hours of FUN!

$3 for full length poem (written in 20 minutes)
$5 to hear the poet perform the poem

Raffles throughout the duration of the event, as well as food vendors, bake sale, etc.

Representatives from the CyclingSavvy have been contacted and will hopefully be providing educational materials to raise awareness for cyclist safety. Also working on getting a speaker for the event.

We are suggesting a donation of $5, but all are welcome to attend.

A portion of the proceeds will be going to Karyna.

SO much more in the works, will keep you posted!

You may contact Katherine Massey for more information. She will either answer for you or get you in contact with the right person. Many people wanted to do something and be involved, so the planning committee is actually pretty big.

A donation page has been set up at igg.me/at/karynasantana.

There is also a Facebook event.
