Sorry if I just can’t see it for the picture, but what exactly makes that a bike corral? It looks like a single parking space that has been designated bike parking without any means of locking a bike or even keeping a typical road bike (without kickstand)standing upright. At the risk of sounding cynical it looks almost as useless as a bike lane through a door zone. I do not ride in downtown so maybe I am missing something.

It’s a little longer than a single parking space with 7 inverted U racks in it. You can’t see the U racks because they all have bikes locked on both sides. This was after the First Friday ride. We filled it and then some.

As I understand it, Ethos requested there not be a car parking space in front of their out-door seating so their patrons could enjoy the view of the lake. Plus a LOT of their patrons ride bikes. This is a great facility on a lot of levels. My only complaint is that the U racks on the end only have space for a bike on one side because they are up against the plastic bollard things. But it’s probably a rare event that there would be more than 12 bikes parked there.
