Full Moon Fever Ride/ CANCELLED

Come join us this Friday, July 15, 2011, for the Full Moon Fever Ride.

What better way to kick off your weekend than with a bicycle ride on a hot summer night, with the full Thunder Moon rising?  There’s nothing like a ride on your bike to put the stress of the workweek behind you.

Keri will be leading us on a scenic route through our fair City of Orlando, and we’ll ride at  leisurely pace. We may be lucky enough to enjoy a breeze off the lakes, and the reflection of the Thunder Moon on the water.

John Schubert (Technical Editor, Adventure Cyclist magazine) is visiting from Pennsylvania, and will be riding with us. Some of you may know him, as he is kind of a rock star in the world of cycle touring, and apparently an all-round great guy, among other things. But don’t be intimidated. We’ll put him on an old beater bike and have him tow a trailer with a penguin in it.

Plan to come have some fun!  Everyone is invited! Meet-up is at 7:00 PM in the parking area at the Cady Way Trailhead behind the Fashion Square Mall.  You will need to have front and rear lights on your bike, as we will be riding after dark. Riders under age 16 must wear a helmet as required by law.

See you Friday night!

Wish I knew about this earlier. No time available to request off at work. Hope you have a great ride! I look forward to a weekend ride…hopefully there’s one soon!

Me and my tribe want to come too, but it’s 30 minutes before and still coming down. I guess it’s a no-go?

I was planning on going too, but the weather looks very grim. Any word on maybe a later start time or if this is simply canceled?

Phil, the radar doesn’t look like it’s going to clear up for awhile, so we reluctantly cancelled, and I’m disaappointed.

i figured it would get cancelled because of the lightning. no one should mess with that. i holed up at work until 7:50, when the downpour faded to a light shower, and the last clap of thunder was barely an echo. i was starving, so i headed over to B3 and ate a delicious BBQ chicken flatbread and enjoyed some hot tea. by the time i finished most of the clouds had passed, and it was a pleasant, slightly moist ride home. anyway, we’ll have to try again.
