Recap: Mayor’s Bike to Work Ride

Today’s Bike to Work Ride with Mayor Buddy Dyer was a great success. About 200 cyclists accompanied the Mayor on his ride from College Park to City Hall. It was a gorgeous crisp morning when 7 of us rode from Cady Way to Infusion Tea for the ride start. Once we arrived, we signed in as part of the Cycling Savvy group, reconnected with old friends, and spread the word about Cycling Savvy. It wasn’t long before the Mayor arrived, gave his pre-ride speech, then we were off. The 2.5 mile route took us down Edgewater Dr, left on Lakeview St, and finally a straight shot down Orange Ave to City Hall. Once every arrived at City Hall, the Mayor announce the group attendance awards. Imagine our surprise when our modest group of about a dozen tied for 2nd place! We got our medal and photo op with the Mayor, then our group dispersed as they biked back to Cady Way to get to work.
