Hooo-Ray!!! No Wave!!!
I noticed that Target, after they renovated the store on E Colonial, removed the wave and replaced it with similar racks. I hate the wave because my bike never fits in it properly.

This Eola rack is awesome in so many ways! I especially love that the concrete pad supports bikes with trailers.
I’ve been planning to post a photo of the Target racks too. I was so happy to see they had replaced the wave rack. They more than doubled the capacity with the racks they installed. I’ve always liked that they placed the bike parking next to the entrance in a covered, well-lit area.
Wave racks are a joke… but symbolic of how poorly-conceived products can become a standard when they’re ordered and installed by people who don’t use them. Not unlike most on-street bike facilities.

Yes, having parking right next to the destination entrance is an important part of making cycling the fastest, easiest and most convenient mode of transportation.
Sometimes when I’ve been running a whole lot of errands all day, I have a little bit of the sensation of getting off a boat. It takes me a little while to get my “land legs.”

That’s a nice bike rack, and it’s placed more conveniently to the beer garden! The old rack would be crowded to overflowing unless you arrived early. It’s great to have the need for more bike racks.
