“She was allowed to continue on her way.”

Speculation as to what would have happened to her here or in TX? I say Baker Acted, removal from the home of her children and then 10 years at Lowell. From the Seattle Post Intelligencer:

A naked 20-year-old woman riding a bicycle south of Bremerton Monday drew the attention of passers-by, and also a request from a state trooper to put some clothes on.

Multiple calls about the woman were taken by dispatchers, the first at 2:31 p.m., reporting a completely naked woman was riding a bicycle on State Highway 3 near Allyn, according to the Washington State Patrol.

A trooper was dispatched, but could not find her.

Another call, at 4:20 p.m., reported the woman near the Bremerton Airport. The caller said she was now wearing pants and pasties.

About 15 minutes later a trooper found the woman, of Seattle, and asked her to clothe herself. She was allowed to continue on her way.

“No word on where she was going,” said Trooper Krista Hedstrom, spokeswoman for the State Patrol.

    Only two calls?

Someone once quipped that a man could walk nude down Main Street, brandishing two assault rifles and wearing a bandolier full of grenades, and there would be thirty calls to 911 within a minute. One of those calls would mention the weapons.

A woman doing the same thing? Maybe five calls, with no mention of the firearms.

Yeah, Washington state is a bit more tolerant than Kentucky…

What I found odd about this story was that it was posted on the P-I site (formerly the more left leaning of our daily papers, now no longer available in print)and that it mentioned a bicyclist, and that there weren’t 50+ ignorant, venomous anti-bike comments within an hour.

As for the lack of pictures, we’re all so pasty out here it would be really difficult to get the exposure right.

I thought that was odd, too.

This was in the county that I live in.
In Washington State it is NOT a crime to be naked in public. We have a naked bicycle ride in the Fremont district of Seattle on the Summer solstice. It IS a crime to be naked with lewd and lavatious behaviour.
(in other words, you can show it, but you can’t wave it)
    gears to you…leo
