LBS Open on Sunday?
If you rely on your bike as transportation, sometimes you need some help on a Sunday. The problem might be as minor as a flat tire and your glue is dried up, yet local bike shops may not be open on Sunday so that they can sell you even a patch kit. I spent a frustrating day finding this out.

I wish more retailers of all sorts were CLOSED on Sundays. My reason has nothing to do with religion. It’s just nice to have a break from being a 24/7 consumer society. We’ve gotten so we want everything now and get all bent out of shape if we can’t.
Sunday used to be the day you could count on relatively light traffic (except mornings near churches) and cycling was so much nicer.
As the economy tanks deeper I’ll get my wish.
I know of one area bike shop that doesn’t open until 11 am. on Saturday because the owners and staff are out cycling. Good for them!
If the bicycle is your primary means of transportation, it behooves you to have the basic supplies on hand at all times — tube, spare tire, lube, patch kit, etc. And every cyclist should be able to fix a flat. If not, many area bike shops offer tire changing clinics — during regular business hours, of course!
I agree. Bike shop owners and employees deserve a day off to ride their bikes. Basic supplies aren’t so expensive that we can’t keep our own stock of them.
