Because that’s how it is.
I just picked up my new Surly at Retro City Cycles. It’s BEAUTIFUL! And Diane Blake said, “It’s going to rain now, because you’re on a new bike.” That’s how it is. And the sky opened up the minute I rolled out of the parking lot. And I was wearing my office clothes (such as they are). And I only had a mile to ride. And I got drenched. And wet jeans weigh more than steel bike frames.
And I sure do love fenders!
Here’s a sneak preview… more pics and a review will follow when the bike is complete.
Very cool! Can’t wait for the pics and a review of what you’ve noticed about the new ride …. and yes, fenders are Fred but they sure are practicle …. 🙂
What? All my bikes have fenders! Okay, the velomobile is just one big fender. Where does fred come into this?
Just kidding, I know the term.
Since it’s (she’s? he’s?) a Surly, the rainy initiation ride was was totally in the right vibe.
More initiation on the way home after working with a client until 9:30. It isn’t raining anymore, but the roads are wet. No wheel-spray up my nose, no stripe up my back!
What a sweet ride!
Fenders are Fredly? I think not!…

The wood fenders are cool, but check out the painted fenders from Portland artist Jennifer Mercede! They would look schweet on my Trek FX 7.6.

OK, I feel a blog post about fenders and mudflaps coming on… who wants to write it???
🙂
Two days, no photos. Is your finger broken?
I’m waiting for a couple of accessories that were on backorder so I can take a photo of the bike completely appointed. Right not I have the axiom rack on it, which is functional, but unlovely.
“I’m waiting for a couple of accessories that were on backorder”
No before and after pics, I guess. I suppose we can wait.
