Some Good Stuff from the Blogosphere
I’ve been slammed at work. I have a half dozen things I want to write about, but no time. So I’m going to offer up other people’s stuff…
Looking for a Used Bike? The Cycledog, Ed Wagner, apparently does have time. He has written up a nice piece of advice on buying a used bike.
A Good Reason to Stay Off the Sidewalk Dave Moulton offers a story about a friend who insisted on riding on the sidewalk and how he discovered the hard way why that’s a bad idea. Of course, many people insist on riding on the sidewalk (even on roads with wide lanes or bike lanes!). Tim Grahl at commutebybike.com has some good tips for improving your safety in this inherently unsafe choice. He forgot one big one though: always ride with traffic—riding facing traffic increases your risk 4-fold.
Bike Art Here’s a funky video of Momentum Magazine’s Bikospehere Art & Fashion Show.
Impress Your Friends Thistle is the life of the party on her Bakfiets. I hope she’s practicing for the Mama Bakfiets Race—an agility competition for Dutch Soccer Moms.
Ever seen a dog pedal a bicycle? Thanks to the Cycling Dude for pointing out this hilarious video.
I found one more fun video, but it’s getting its own post.
