You Can’t Bring that Bike in Here!

Tom Snyders, The Bicycling Comedian, is coming to town!

“You Can’t Bring that Bike in Here!” is a one-hour, one-man show about Tom’s 25 years on the road, traveling to all of his comedy performances by bicycle. His fun mulit-media show features video clips and photos from his years on the bike. Enjoy a touring cyclist’s take on funny road signs from the back roads of America, starting with a section of signs you don’t like to see when on the road by bicycle!

June 20th marks exactly 25 years Tom has been on the road — 162,000 miles, through all 50 states, and in 34 countries on six continents. He has performed in more than 200 comedy clubs throughout America, Canada, Europe and Australia.

Come check him out at the Orlando Fringe Festival.  Get your tickets online or at the door ($10). Tom will be in the Yellow Venue (Shakespeare Center) in Loch Haven Park. Show times below:

  1. Hi, It’s Tom Snyders, “The Bicycling Comedian.” Thanks Keri for posting this. I promise it is a fun show and cyclists are the perfect target audience. In fact, tickets are $10, available at the door, or online in advance at: http://www.orlandofringe.org

I offer a $2 discount for students, seniors, and those arriving to the show by bicycle! It is a family friendly show and is 60 minutes long.

I guarantee you will like my presentation of funny road signs from the back roads of America, and the world –starting with a section of signs you don’t want to see when on the road on a bicycle!

  2. Tom,
Are you doing any other Florida venues before or after Orlando? I would love to see you in Fort Myers.

  3. I’ve got a stand-up comedy routine of my own, entitled “What if car infrastructure were treated the same as bike infrastructure?”

So, for example, what if there were four gaps in I-5 through Orlando through which it was difficult, dangerous and hostile to drive a car? And through one of those gaps, the car drivers had to get out and push their cars through the area? Think there just might be a few less car drivers on an I-5 that looked like that?

Then I do an imitation of a politician standing in the middle of an I-5 that looked like that saying “We spent a lot of money on I-5! And hardly any of those car drivers use it! And now those whiny car drivers are asking us to spend MORE money on I-5 to close these gaps when they don’t even use what they’ve already got!”

I’ve got 1/2 hour of material like that.

    I know… don’t quit my day job. :)

    • And the audience yawns.

    • I like the idea but I think this would work better as a cartoon in the newspaper.

  4. Unfortunately, Orlando is so far away for me, and the one day I’ll be in that area, on the 26th, it’s too late for me to attend.

I thought the title of the post to be intriguing, as I’ve had a similar circumstance with “someone who works for the Sheriff’s office” telling me the same thing:

  5. I think I’m going to go on Sunday, May 20th at 2:45pm. Loch Haven Park is oh so close, so biking there is totally an option. :)
    Anyone else going that day?
