Cargo Ride to Maitland Farmers Market

You won’t want to miss Commute Orlando’s next Cargo Bike Ride on Sunday, July 25, 2010. This time, the S-Cargo crew will be riding to the Maitland Farmers Market for brunch, shopping for fresh and local produce, and whatever the morning brings. Everyone is invited, and we’ll enjoy the scenic route at a nice, leisurely pace. Whether you ride  a cargo bike, tow a bicycle trailer, use panniers, baskets, or even hang a plastic bag from the handlebar of your fixie, it will be cool.

We’ll meet up at 9:00 am at the Cady Way Trailhead behind Orlando Fashion Square Mall, and roll out at 9:15 am. Keri knows the best cycling routes, and this one is another winner. Come enjoy a fun time! There may be prizes…

Red's endorsement:

“I went on the inaugural S-Cargo Ride, and had a blast! I know you two-leggers will enjoy it. This ride to the Maitland Farmer’s Market is on my calendar.”

  1. The girls and I are planning on being there. We may bring the tandem…we’ll see.

    • Great! Looking forward to seeing you. Should be a good ride.

  2. I hope the pickle guy is still at that market, haven’t been up there in about a year. I can just taste the half sours. Count me in.

    • Excellent! See you Sunday morning, Will.

  3. Diana, Just for clarification, we don’t need to bring any food? We are buying our own food there?

    • Rick, I think people can do whatever they choose on the food. I plan to buy something to eat there. By the way, if you want a trailer, just let me know and I can drop one off for you.

      • That would be great. Just ring the bell, someone should be here.

        • Rick, sorry, I didn’t have a chance to check my messages earlier this evening, so went ahead and packed everything in the van and will pass the trailer off to you at the meet-up if that’s OK.

  4. Diana, do you want me to come down in the morning and help you put trailers in trailers to transport to the start?

BTW, I took the Avenir to Publix. A young woman came right up to me as I pulled up and asked about it. I invited her to the ride and told her she’d get a chance to see a lot of different trailers. I think she’s going to come.

    • Keri, I’ll implement the trailer on trailer on trailer plan next time. I went ahead and loaded the mothership (van) this evening, and will meet everyone at the trailhead. I’ll be there early. Next time it will be 100% biking, I promise.

  5. I will be there with the Burley Trailer and my daughter Emi

    • That’s great, Vincent! I don’t have a cute little daughter anymore, so I’ll have to bring a dog in my trailer.

  6. We’re bringing Xander and Molly in the kiddo trailer and hauling the flatbed.

    • Looking forward to seeing all of you!
