   As municipalities are facing double-digit revenue shortfalls, sweeping bike lanes will be cut from budgets. Along with new bike lanes and bicycle paths. Expect severe cutbacks in the Parks and Recreation budgets and road department too.
   In some cities, there is nothing left over when the generous retirement plans for city employees are funded. (Vallejo California)

   I like how the Brompton rider went for the plank.

   Philadelphia is installing some similar visual tricks (but not art) to city streets as an option to road-humps. Fake 1′ diameter pothole decals were being tried somewhere else (as a study).

   That thing is very cool! I doubt the slowing effect will last for long for the regulars. Just the same, I want one!

   It also serves as an opportunity for me to repeat my “all I want is smooth pavement” mantra. Thanks Mighk.
