The Lake County Bicycle Alliance

Written by admin on July 15th, 2009

Would you like to experience common courtesy and respect (from drivers) as a cyclist on the roads of Lake County?

We are working with law enforcement, media, government, and the bicycle community to promote, educate, and enforce, Florida Bicycle Law. Whether you compete, take an occasional family ride, or are an enthusiast, for less time than “a ride” come see how “WE” can make our roads safer, and more enjoyable, for us all.

The wheels are roll’in…come join us!

My family and I are bicyclists in Lake County. I have a question though, why do so many bicyclists ride on the road when there is a beautiful bike trail running parallel to the road, which is only 10 feet away? It clearly isn’t safe for the bikers, or the vehicles that travel on the road. Not to mention the trail is in great shape, the road however is bumpy, narrow, and pothole filled. All we hear is that their is no courtesy and respect for the bikers, but don’t these rude bikers bring that on themselves?
